Sports Performance Innovation Forum

How do you advance human potential in performance sport?

This year’s Sports Performance Innovation Forum explores this concept and the convergence of food nutrition, equipment design and athletic endeavour, with distinct perspectives from leading professionals in the world of sports innovation.

Let our legendary line-up walk you through their personal and first-hand perspectives towards the physiology, psychology, food, nutrition, brand, design, and the impact of technology on the evolution of sport and performance.

Three speakers will share incredible insight spanning how to fuel the body for peak performance, the importance of design innovation within sporting equipment, and competing on the world stage and in extreme sports situations where performance is fundamental in pushing the boundaries of possibility.

Our speakers include local Tauranga old boy Mark Henderson, Director of Engineering at Adidas. New Zealand K1 Canoe Slalom Champion and Olympian Mike Dawson; and elite performance sport dietitian Dane Baker. The event will be MC’d by NZME Cricket Commentator/Panelist, Peter McGlashan. The 2019 Sports Performance Innovation Forum will be held on Thursday 5th September in Mount Maunganui at Bay Oval Pavilion, Blake Park.

Little Inventors Workshops

Little Inventors is an inspiring and imaginative educational workshop designed to engage young kids in all the fun that comes from problem solving and creativity.

With a playful and practical blend of science, design, engineering and math, along with a good dose of storytelling, Little Inventors helps give littlies confidence to try new things, encouragement to openly think about new ideas, and positivity to learn that they really can achieve what ever they set their mind to in life.

The workshops feature awesome activities for young Inventors pre YIA (aged 6-10 years) to build, create and learn. There will be plenty of inspiration to get kids minds going and plenty of room to add their own crazy ideas. And at the end, everyone who participates will receive a patent certificate from the Little Inventors Club for their very own invention they create.

With limited spots available, be quick and register your little inventor now.
